Microwave Banana Cake in a Bowl

Ingredients:

  • 1 ripe banana, mashed
  • 3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil or melted butter
  • 1 tablespoon milk
  • ¼ teaspoon baking powder
  • A pinch of salt
  • Optional: A few drops of vanilla extract, cinnamon, or chocolate chips for flavor variation

Instructions:

  1. In a microwave-safe bowl, mash the ripe banana until smooth.
  2. Add the all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, vegetable oil or melted butter, milk, baking powder, and a pinch of salt to the mashed banana.
  3. Mix all the ingredients together thoroughly until you have a smooth batter. Ensure there are no lumps.
  4. If desired, add a few drops of vanilla extract for flavor enhancement or sprinkle in a pinch of cinnamon for added warmth. You can also include chocolate chips for a delightful twist.
  5. Place the bowl in the microwave and cook on high for approximately 1.5 to 2 minutes. Cooking times may vary depending on the microwave’s wattage, so keep an eye on it. The cake should rise and become firm to the touch when done.
  6. Once cooked, carefully remove the bowl from the microwave (it might be hot) and let the cake cool for a minute or two.
  7. Optionally, you can dust the top with powdered sugar or add a dollop of whipped cream or a scoop of ice cream for serving.
